The Semonkong Fly-Fishing Tour is one of the greatest adventures a fly-fishermen can experience in Southern Africa. Not for the fainthearted, as the descent into the Maletsenyane Gorge is about 3hrs and very steep. A good level of fitness is required and a real sense of adventure. Once you are in the gorge with anything up to 2,5 kg of brown or rainbow trout on your line any pain will disappear. All you need to bring is your fishing rod, some good quality hiking clothes and a sleeping bag and we will supply and organize the rest.

R 4000.00 per person Includes: Transfers from Ladybrand, meals, accommodation at lodges, pack horses, fishing permits & guides, tents, camping and camping equipment

DAY 1

From JHB : travel in jour own vehicle to Ladybrand, Free State (4-5 hrs) Meet up with fishing guide(s) and we will escort you to Ramabanta Lodge where you will leave your vehicle. Dinner at Lodge and ensuite accommodation.

DAY 2

Early Breakfast and packing of Fishing Gear and clothing into our Vehicles for 4 x4 Transfer to top of gorge where we will meet up with the packhorses who will carry all the luggage down. Lunch in the gorge and afternoon and evening fishing - Camp alongside the river which will have been set up by the time you get there. Braai and evening round the fire. 

DAY 3

Early breakfast: Whole day fishing upstream, lunch on the river and back to camp.

DAY 4

Early Breakfast: Fish from morning until lunch 14h00 climb out of gorge and transfer back to Semonkong Lodge to enjoy a well earned shower & dinner - ensuite accommodation.

DAY 5

After breakfast we will then escort you back to your vehicle at Ramabanta Lodge, where you will then continue your journey home.
