Malealea Tours is run by Glenn Jones.
Glenn grew up and spent the first 10 years of his life in the town of Mount Moorosi, in Southern Lesotho. His parents, Mick and Di Jones, ran the trading station there for 15 years before moving to Malealea and starting Malealea Lodge. He spent the next couple of years at boarding school in Bloemfontein, getting a B.Comm degree at Stellenbosch University, worked on a wine farm in Stellenbosch and travelling in the UK before joining the family Business at Malealea in
2002. While working at Malealea He developed a keen interest in tourism development and how it affects the local economy and obtained an Honours and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Development Studies at Wits University.
Growing up and working in Lesotho has given him plenty of opportunities to really explore the country by foot, horse, motorbike and 4x4. Over the years he has got to know the local Basotho people and developed a good sense of what the country has to offer. Glenn is responsible for compiling sel-drive tailor-made packages for normal sedan cars as well as those wishing to go "off the beaten" track in their 4x4's.
Malealea Tours has teamed up with Gary Robinson, registered tour guide. Gary is the Malealea Tours specialist tour guide and has been taking clients through Lesotho in his 4x4 Landrover and Volkswagen Synchro's for many years now. He is passionate about touring, fishing and loves Lesotho. See the guided-tours page for the Lesotho and Wildcoast Overland trip and the Semonkong Fly-fishing Safari for the "trip of a lifetime" with Gary.
