"Give me a choice between the sea and mountains, and I'll head straight for the hills. That's why my first choice for a summer holiday is the wild highland region of southern Lesotho. It's a place where you can choose your own adventure: pioneer a new mountain bike trail or fish for giant rainbow trout in mountain streams. Hike to forgotten waterfalls with laughing herd boys as your guides or go pony trekking for days on end. Bring all your friends, mountain bikes, fishing tackle, hiking boots, and plenty of warm clothes – even in summer the pure mountain air can get rather nippy at night.
